How long can an easyplant stay in its shipping box, and what should I do upon delivery?

Learn how long an easyplant can safely stay in its shipping box, when to unbox it after delivery, and what steps to take to help your plant acclimate and thrive.

Introduction

Easyplants are live plants, so they should be removed from their shipping box as soon as possible after delivery. Prompt unboxing helps reduce stress and allows your plant to begin adjusting to its new environment.

When Should I Unbox My easyplant?

For the best experience, unbox your easyplant as soon as it arrives.

If you're unable to unbox it immediately, don't worry. A short delay (under 24 hours) is usually not harmful, but plants should not remain in their shipping boxes longer than necessary. If a delay is unavoidable, bring the package indoors and keep it in a temperature-controlled environment away from extreme heat or cold.

What Should I Do When My easyplant Arrives?

1. Unbox Your Plant

Carefully remove your plant from the shipping box and packaging materials.

2. Inspect the Plant

Check for any signs of shipping stress, such as minor yellowing, browning, or drooping leaves. Some cosmetic stress after shipping is normal and often improves as the plant acclimates to its new home.

3. Place It in the Right Location

Follow the care instructions included with your plant and place it in the recommended lighting conditions. Most easyplants prefer bright, indirect light, though requirements vary by species.

4. Follow the Recommended Watering Schedule

Continue caring for your plant according to its species-specific watering schedule. Refill the reservoir only when the recommended watering interval has passed, the reservoir is empty, and the top 2-3 inches of soil are dry.

Gifting an easyplant

If you're giving an easyplant as a gift, it's best to unbox it and care for it normally until you're ready to present it. Keeping the plant in its shipping box for extended periods may increase stress and affect its appearance.

If Your Plant Looks Stressed

Some yellowing, leaf drop, or drooping can occur after shipping and is usually temporary. Remove any fully damaged leaves, provide the recommended light, and give the plant time to adjust to its new environment.
